Appreciation post: the old guy at the supply house in Fresno who told me to stop guessing on compressor swaps
Was picking up a run cap at a supply house off Blackstone in Fresno last month. Counter guy, been there 30 years, watched me grab the same size cap I always grab. He said 'pull the actual microfarad rating off the dead one, kid, not what you think it should be.' Tried it on a Whirlpool fridge the next day and the amp draw dropped right where it should be. That one sentence saved me a callback and a second trip. How do you all handle mismatched run caps when the label is rubbed off?
