Changed my go-to trick for seized dryer drums, never looking back

I used to spray penetrating oil on the drum shaft and hope for the best, but that only worked twice out of maybe 9 jobs last season. Then I started pulling the belt and spinning the drum by hand to actually feel where the catch was before touching anything. Turns out most of those seized drums were just a jammed blower wheel with lint packed tight, not the bearing at all. I did a job in Denver last month where the customer had already paid another guy $180 for a new motor that didnt solve it. Took me 25 minutes to clear the wheel and it spun free, charged them $95 for the service call. Has anyone else found that checking the blower path first saves way more time than chasing the bearing?

Bearing failure still causes way more seized drums than lint, that's just basic math.
