Found a cheap fix for that weird GE fridge ice maker hum

Had a GE refrigerator last month where the ice maker was making this loud humming noise every 15 minutes but no ice was dropping. Customer was about to drop $400 on a new ice maker assembly. I noticed the water inlet valve was just barely clogged with sediment like a tiny speck of crud. Took it apart, cleaned it with a toothpick and vinegar and it worked perfect. Anyone else run into this with the newer GE models or just me?

Wait, is that the secret? I had the exact same noise on my GE last winter and I just about threw it out the window before my brother-in-law took a look and found a tiny speck of junk in the water line too. Cleaned it out with a paperclip and it's been quiet ever since.
