Hit a hidden gas line under a Reno floor, oops
Last Saturday I was swapping out a failing dishwasher on a job in Sparks, and the homeowner mentioned a weird smell near the kickplate. I pulled the unit out and found the line had rubbed against a floor joist for years, wore a tiny pinhole right at the bend. Called the gas company first, then patched the line with a new flex connector and clamped it so it wouldn't vibrate again. Cost me an extra hour and about $40 in parts, but at least it wasn't a full blowout. Has anyone else dealt with a gas line hiding behind an appliance that gave zero warning signs?
