I finally stopped guessing on dryer vents and started using a $12 manometer
For years I was clearing lint blockages and calling it a day on dryer vent jobs, then one call in Toledo kept tripping the thermal fuse every 3 weeks. A retired tech told me to check static pressure instead of eyeballing airflow, and the reading was way over spec even though the duct looked clean from the outside. Anyone else here switched to measuring static pressure on vent calls?
