I finally switched from paper manuals to a tablet for service diagrams
Used to carry a binder full of schematics for every brand, but after tearing a crucial page on a rainy job in Cincinnati, I bought a cheap Samsung tablet. Now I just download the PDF, zoom in on the part number, and my hands stay clean. Anyone else find a specific app that works well for organizing those files?

That binder in the rain story hits home... I spilled coffee on a wiring diagram once and had to call the guy for the color codes. Sometimes the old ways just make more problems.

That coffee spill story is the real reason to switch, it's not just about rain. I keep a cheap tablet in my toolbox just for this. What people don't talk about is how a tablet actually saves time on the job, not just paper. You can search the PDF for a part number instead of flipping pages with dirty hands. I saw clairee88 mentioned Xodo, and that search function is exactly why. It turns a big messy diagram into something you can actually use fast.
