Just visited a big box store appliance section and I'm not sold on all these smart fridges

Walked into a Best Buy in Nashville on Saturday to grab a dryer vent brush and ended up wandering through the appliance aisles. Every new fridge has a giant screen on it now, some are like $3,000 or more just for a door you can talk to. I asked the sales guy how often people actually use the smart features and he kind of shrugged and said mostly for ordering groceries or checking cameras. To me that feels like a lot of extra stuff to break when a compressor goes out or a control board fries. I've swapped enough main boards on basic models to know one lightning surge could turn a $3,000 fridge into a brick. Am I the only one who thinks these smart fridges are more trouble than they're worth for regular people?

(Wait, people actually pay $3,000..." oh man, I wish I had an excuse like that for my own money management. I’m over here trying to justify a $30 pizza because it’s a "treat," you know?
