Old-timer told me to stop using canned refrigerant
Guy with 30 years experience watched me grab a can. Said I'm wasting money. Told me to recover, evacuate, and weigh in every time. Took his advice on a freezer job. System ran way colder. Now I never touch the cans. Anybody else switch to full recovery?

Wait, are you supposed to recover and weigh in on every single system though or just the bigger ones? I mean, for a little window unit that seems like overkill lol.

Honestly I read somewhere that even small units can leak if they're not weighed in properly, so better safe than sorry.
