Overheard a young tech say 'just swap the board' like it's nothing
That comment about not even checking the relay made me realize how much troubleshooting by ear and touch is fading out since my first repair job in 1987, has anyone else noticed newer techs skipping the simple diagnostic steps?

That younger generation never learned to listen for that hum or feel for heat coming off a bad capacitor. My apprentice last month wanted to replace a whole power supply before I showed him the bulging cap in 30 seconds with my eyes closed. You lose that ingrained diagnostic sense when every fix starts with swapping parts instead of reading the failure points.
