Rant: My 1000th call was for a fridge full of melted ice cream because someone unplugged it to charge their phone.
I thought I'd seen it all, but hitting that service milestone with a job that took 30 seconds to fix just made me laugh and wonder how many other techs have a dumb story for their big round number.

That's honestly the perfect way to hit a thousand. Makes you wonder what the very first call was like, way back when. Bet it was something just as simple but felt like a huge deal at the time. Did you have a moment where you just stood there staring at the unplugged fridge, thinking about the whole journey? Those bookend calls really put the whole job into a weird kind of focus.

Wait, you're saying you actually stood there staring at the unplugged fridge? Like, how long did that last, a solid minute of just zoning out? I feel like most people would just curse under their breath and move on, not turn it into some kind of career reflection moment.

Right? Makes you think about all the calls in between too. Like, was there a perfect bell curve of stupidity, or did it just stay flat the whole time? That first call probably felt like climbing a mountain, but by number 500 you're just on autopilot.
