The dishwasher in unit 4B taught me to check the drain hose first, not the pump
Got a call to a place on Maple Street last Tuesday, lady says her dishwasher won't drain and she's already mad about the $85 trip fee. I popped the kick panel off ready to yank the pump, but something made me feel the drain hose first, and it was kinked flat behind the cabinet from when the plumber shoved it back in last year. Straightened it out, ran a cycle, water gone in 90 seconds, and she tipped me $20 in cash. How many of you check the easy stuff first, or do you go straight for the part swap?
Man, I heard a guy on a repair podcast say like 60 percent of no-drain calls are just a kinked or clogged hose. Cheap fix beats pulling a pump any day. Good on you for feeling around first.
