A client told me my case studies were too perfect and it flipped my approach

Last month I had a prospect say my case studies sounded fake because every problem got solved neatly. He flat out asked where the messy parts were. I changed my format to include a section on what went wrong mid-project, like a 3 week delay because we misjudged their data setup. Now my open rates on those emails went up 40% and prospects actually ask follow up questions. Has anyone else had feedback that made you rethink how you present success stories?

Does this mean we should all start adding our biggest screw ups to our portfolios?
