Getting zero leads from a $500 trade show booth pack in Chicago last fall
I spent $500 on a booth package at a mid-size manufacturing expo in Chicago back in October, brought product samples and a tablet for demos. Out of maybe 200 people who walked by, only 3 scanned their badges and none of them followed up after I sent a personalized email the next week. Has anyone figured out how to actually pull qualified leads from these smaller industry shows without doubling the budget?

The thing about "personalized email" is it can still feel like a template if you're sending it the next week. You gotta catch people while they're still thinking about your booth, maybe even that same evening. Three badge scans from 200 people is actually pretty normal for a mid-size show, you just need to follow up faster and with something more specific than a generic "nice meeting you" message.

Did you have any kind of giveaway or contest running? I've had way better luck with those little digital fishing games or a spin-to-win wheel than just having product out... people love the chance to win something even if it's small. At a show last year I gave away three $25 gift cards and got like 12 real follow ups from people who actually talked to me about their needs while they were spinning.
