My VP's 'post every day on LinkedIn' advice backfired hard

Our VP of sales told me to post daily on LinkedIn to 'build my personal brand.' I did it for 3 straight weeks, and last Tuesday a prospect literally started the call by asking if I was okay. Turns out my engagement dropped 40% and one post about our CRM got more comments from my mom than actual leads. Has anyone else gotten this kind of advice that blew up in their face?

Honestly, sounds like you dodged a bullet. Nobody actually reads that daily grind stuff, they just scroll past it like junk mail. The mom comment is the real kicker though, that tells you all you need to know about who's actually paying attention. Maybe take it as a sign to post like once a week and actually say something useful instead of chasing some vanity metric your VP probably heard at a conference.
