Our big webinar for a manufacturing client crashed 5 minutes in because the registration link broke.
We were in their Chicago office watching it fail live, and had to pivot to sending the slide deck directly with a personal apology video. How do you handle tech fails during a major campaign launch?

My GPS fails more than I'd like to admit.

Honestly @morgan915, it's gotten to the point where I just expect it to fail in certain spots. There's this one left turn downtown that my phone always tries to send me through a concrete wall. Makes you wonder how the maps get so wrong sometimes, like they're just guessing. I've started double checking the route on my laptop before I leave for anything important. Feels like we trust these things way too much for how often they mess up.

and see, I used to think that kind of "expect the fail" attitude was being TOO negative. I thought if you plan well enough and test everything, tech will work. But after watching that registration link blow up with like 200 people waiting, I completely changed my mind. @patking is right honestly. The issue isn't that the tech fails sometimes, it's that we build our whole campaign around it working PERFECTLY and have zero backup. We got lucky we were in the same room and could pivot fast, but now I always have a "Plan B" ready before I launch anything. A spare slide deck on a thumb drive, a backup recording setup, even a simple phone number people can call. It's annoying and feels dumb but it saved us when things went wrong.
