Paid $500 for a list of decision-makers that was mostly wrong

Thought I was being smart buying a targeted B2B contact list from a popular provider. Wanted to reach IT managers at mid-size companies in Texas. The list had 300 contacts for $500. First 50 emails bounced back. Called 10 numbers and 6 were disconnected or the wrong person. The rest were receptionists who had no idea who I was talking about. Total waste of three days and the money. Has anyone else had decent luck with a specific list vendor?

Totally feel your pain, that's a brutal waste of time and cash.

Wow, I bet a lot of people don't realize how that kind of thing can just snowball on you! It's not just the money you lost upfront, it's the hidden costs of time and frustration that really add up. @emmam67, hopefully you at least got a good story out of it, something to laugh about later.
