Spent $400 on a list vendor and got 200 dead leads
Six months ago I bought a targeted contact list for a SaaS pitch we were running. The vendor promised 95% accuracy and showed me samples that looked solid. First 50 calls, 40 numbers were disconnected or wrong person. I went back to the vendor and they blamed my dialer. What convinced me to stop chasing list quality was pulling our own CRM data: we had 3x better response from clients we'd met at a trade show in Denver, zero cost. Has anyone else found that old-fashioned networking beats paid lists every time?

Granted lists are a gamble, but one bad vendor doesn't kill the whole idea. Good lists work if you vet them harder and test a small batch first.
