That moment I realized my ABM targeting was way too broad
I was running an account based marketing campaign for 6 months and getting barely any meetings. Then I sat in on a call where a prospect said 'your emails feel like you don't know what we actually do.' That's when it hit me - I was targeting 200 accounts per industry instead of focusing on the 20 where we had a real fit. Have you ever had a prospect's comment completely shift your targeting strategy?

Oh man, I had almost the exact same wakeup call but way dumber... I was sending out personalized videos to 500 accounts and wondered why nobody watched past the first 5 seconds. Took a prospect emailing me a screenshot of their inbox showing 15 other vendors sending the exact same "personalized" video format. Felt like getting pantsed in front of the whole school honestly. Now I spend more time researching the 30 accounts that actually match our ICP than recording 500 videos nobody asked for.

Wait, people actually sent you a screenshot of their inbox? That's brutal but honestly kind of a favor. I did something similar but dumber - I was sending cold emails with a "custom" GIF I made of their company logo spinning around like a bad 90s screensaver. Thought I was being clever until I got a reply from a VP that just said "Please stop." No punctuation, no context, just pure shame. Now I spend my time finding maybe 10 accounts a week that actually have a problem I can solve, and my response rate tripled. Quality over quantity is real, even if it feels like you're being lazy at first.
