Wasted $2,500 on a trade show booth that got zero leads

Spent all that cash on a fancy pop-up display and custom swag for a B2B event in Chicago last March, but the crowd was all students and vendors, not a single decision maker in sight - has anyone else had better luck with smaller regional shows?

$2,500 for a booth and you got zero? That's brutal. Sounds like the promoter lied about the audience.

Three hundred and seventeen bucks per hour of actual foot traffic, @uma_baker88, assuming nobody stayed for more than five minutes. I bet the promoter counted the janitor and that lost soul looking for the bathroom as "potential leads." It's like paying for a front row seat at a concert but the band doesn't show up and the venue is just an empty parking lot. Maybe next time they can save everyone the trouble and just set up a donation jar for the promoter's vacation fund.
