When the quench tank caught fire, I had to pick a side
I was working in my shop near Nashville, oil got too hot and the whole tank went up, and I had to decide between saving the blade or the building. I threw the steel on the floor and grabbed the extinguisher, but some folks say you should let the oil burn out and protect the workpiece. Has anyone else had to make that call in the moment, and what did you choose?
