A stranger in the checkout line made me rewatch the book version
I was at Target last week buying the Blu-ray for the new adaptation of that thriller novel. The guy behind me saw it and said, "You know they cut the whole subplot with the sister, right?" I hadn't realized. Went home and pulled my old paperback from 2019. He was right. The movie felt thin after that. Anyone else have a random comment make you notice what a film stripped out?

Sounds like that rando in line became your personal director's commentary. Next time I'm watching a movie I'll just ask the nearest stranger what got chopped, save myself the disappointment of actually enjoying it. My last book adaptation took a hatchet to the entire ending, so now I just mentally fill in the gaps while pretending the studio knows what they're doing. That cashier stranger probably has a whole podcast about deleted scenes he's never told anyone about.
