Checked my Kindle stats and hit 1000 books read from adaptations alone

I was scrolling through my Kindle reading log yesterday and realized I've read exactly 1,042 books that later became movies or shows. That number surprised me because I didn't think I was that deep into adaptation reading. Has anyone else kept track of how many adapted books they've hit without planning to?

Did you actually sit down and count them all out or did the Kindle app just show you that number? I bet mine would be way lower since I usually only read the book after I've already seen the movie and got obsessed with it.

oh yeah i totally get what you mean @paigeg22, i was the same way with books for a long time. but what actually worked for me was making a little game out of it - i started a note on my phone where i just jot down the title and author every time i finish something, even if it's a short story or a novella. it sounds dumb but seeing the list grow really motivated me to keep going, especially on days where i didn't feel like reading at all. i also realized that waiting until after the movie just meant i was missing out on all the little details that don't make it to screen, so now i try to read first when i can.
