I bought the 'Dune' special edition Blu-ray before watching the movie

After reading the book twice, I was so sure the new 'Dune' movie would be perfect that I dropped $45 on the fancy steelbook case version. I figured it was a safe bet, you know? I watched it last weekend and, honestly, it just didn't click for me. The visuals were huge, but it felt like a two and a half hour trailer that ended right when the book gets good. Now this expensive box is just sitting on my shelf, and I feel like I wasted that cash on a movie I'll probably never watch again. Has anyone else bought a special edition for a movie they ended up not liking? What do you do with it?

Ugh, I've totally done this. My advice is to sell it now while it's still new and sealed. The price for those fancy editions only drops after the next big movie comes out. I sold a collector's set I regretted on eBay and got most of my money back. Just cut your losses, you know? What's the point of letting it gather dust?

Have you checked what it's actually selling for lately? Sometimes the hype keeps the price up longer than you'd think, so you might not lose as much. I'd check sold listings before you decide.
