My brother told me to skip the 'Dune' movie and just read the book

He said the book was too complex for a film and I would be lost. I listened to him and waited a full year before finally watching the new 'Dune' movie on a flight to Chicago. Honestly, the visuals and sound made the story click for me in a way the book alone never did. Seeing the sandworms and the scale of Arrakis brought it all to life. I still love the book, but the movie helped me understand it better. Has anyone else had a movie adaptation actually help them get into a tough book?

Yeah, the "too complex for a film" line is always funny. Some stories just need the visuals to make the world feel real. Your brother owes you a bag of popcorn.

Classic brother advice. Always trust the person who thinks a movie can't handle a book's big words. The sandworm scene alone explained more than my three attempts at that first chapter.
