My copy of Dune fell in the tub at page 212, and the water-damaged pages actually helped me finish it
Honestly I dropped my paperback of Dune in the bath 3 days ago and the back half turned into a wavy mess. I was ready to toss it and just watch the 2021 movie again, but ngl the soggy pages smell weird and I ended up reading 80 pages that same night because I wanted to know what happened before the paper mold did. The book still hits way harder than the film for me, especially the dinner scene with the water sellers that never made the cut. Tbh the damage did what a bookmark could not. Has anyone else had a wrecked book push them to actually finish it?
