My cousin pointed out that the 'Dune' movie glossed over the book's weirding modules, which made me realize I'd been judging adaptations too harshly.

After he mentioned it, I rewatched the 2021 film and noticed they swapped the modules for a focus on Paul's voice, which actually fits the visual medium better, so now I ask 'what does this change do for the story?' instead of just getting mad it's different, anyone else have a change in perspective after a specific critique?

Ever notice how we get mad when a recipe changes an ingredient, but then it turns out better for our own kitchen? I used to hate when my favorite book scenes got cut for a movie... but sometimes you just can't fit a ten page internal monologue on screen.

But what if the change ruins the whole dish?
