My whole opinion on the Percy Jackson show flipped after episode 7
I was super annoyed with the Percy Jackson Disney+ show for the first 4 episodes honestly. I kept yelling at my TV about how they changed the Lotus Casino scene and cut out all the funny Hermes stuff from the book. But then episode 7 hit and I finally got it lol. The way they handled Luke's big betrayal scene was actually better than the book version in my opinion. They spent more time showing his backstory and why he turned against the gods instead of just having him monologue for two pages. Plus the actor who plays Percy reminds me exactly of how I imagined him when I read the book in 6th grade. Now I'm rewatching the whole thing from episode 1 with fresh eyes and catching all the little details I missed. Anyone else have a show or movie that totally changed your mind halfway through?

Wait, so you're telling me you spent four whole episodes screaming at your TV and then suddenly became a fan? That's like hating pineapple on pizza for a decade and then one day realizing it's actually pretty good.
I had a similar thing happen with the second season of The Bear honestly. The first season was so stressful and chaotic that I almost quit, but then the Christmas episode hit and I was like oh this is actually genius, not just anxiety fuel.
The show definitely made some bold choices with the Hermes stuff being cut out, but I think the payoff for Luke's betrayal worked way better than the book because they actually built up to it instead of just dropping a bomb on you. Good storytelling is like a sneaky spider, you don't notice the web until you're caught in it.

Ngl I was the exact same way with The Bear. Those first episodes felt like a panic attack on screen but then the Christmas episode made everything click into place.
