Rant: Paid $15 to rent 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' and it skipped half the book

I spent $15 on that 2009 Swedish movie version and they completely cut out all the financial mystery stuff that made the book interesting. Anybody else feel like the movie just focused on the shock value and ignored the actual plot?

Right, $15 for the abridged version... could've just bought the book again with that money. Guess they figured nobody actually wanted to watch spreadsheets get solved.

Dang, right? They stripped out all the boring but important financial stuff just to keep the shocking parts.
