Rant: That 12 hour movie trilogy cut was a mistake
A buddy talked me into watching the fan edit that merges all three Hobbit films into one 6 hour sitting. We made it 4 hours before his dog ate my leftover pizza and I called it. Cost me $18 for the digital rental and a whole Sunday I'll never get back. The original book took me 2 days to read and felt tighter somehow. Anyone else fall for the 'definitive version' trap and regret it?

...and honestly I've sat through worse, my own wedding video was 4 hours of my uncle complaining about the catering, so at least the dwarves had cool beards. The real kicker is I fell asleep right when they got to the dragon and woke up to the credits, so my whole takeaway was just "yeah, that happened lol.
