Rolled my eyes when my buddy hyped up The Expanse show over the books

I was dead set that the books were better, but he made me watch the first three episodes last week. The way they handled the belter accents and the ship physics actually made the story click for me in a way the text never did. Anyone else have a show fix a problem you had with the book version?

Heard a buddy say Game of Thrones made the Red Wedding actually hit him in the gut.

You ever have one of those moments where you gotta eat crow and admit you were wrong? Because that's me right now. I was the same way with The Expanse, swore the books had more depth and the show would mess it up. Then I watched the first season and it hit me how much the visual storytelling adds to the world. The books have all these technical details that sometimes get lost in the description, but seeing the ships move and the belter accents in action makes it feel real. It's like the show took the bits I struggled to picture and made them clear. The Red Wedding thing from Game of Thrones is a good example too, some moments just work better when you see them play out.
