Best campsite I ever had was a total accident last June

I was driving through Montana with no plan and ended up at a random Forest Service spot called Indian Creek. It was supposed to be a one night stop but I stayed four days. The creek was right there, cold and clear, and I could hear it all night from my tent. No cell service, no other campers for miles, just me and the sound of water. I caught a few trout with my cheap rod and cooked them over a fire. The whole thing cost me nothing extra beyond the $12 for a fire permit. Has anyone else stumbled into a spot that turned out way better than any planned trip?

You ever notice how the best stuff in life just kinda happens when you stop trying to force it? I mean, I see it all the time with people planning big vacations, getting all stressed out over every detail, and then the real highlight is some random diner they walked into or a wrong turn that led to a view. Your Indian Creek thing is exactly that... you set out with no big plan, and the place basically adopted you for a few days. It's like how I'll spend an hour picking a movie to watch, then end up falling asleep to some random show I didn't even pick. Sometimes the universe just gives you what you need when you quit pushing so hard.

Well, that sounds nice and all, but I'm not sure why a few quiet days by a creek is supposed to be some kind of life changing event. I've had plenty of peaceful stops that were nice for an afternoon but not worth making a big deal over four days later. You caught some trout and heard some water, that's a good trip but not exactly a revelation.
