My new $180 tent pole snapped in a 20mph wind gust at Lake Tahoe last month.

I had to use a splint from my first aid kit and a bunch of duct tape to get it to hold for the night, so what's a good, strong tent brand that won't fold in a little breeze?

Check out Hilleberg tents, they're built for serious weather. Their pole sleeves run the full length of the fly, which adds a ton of stability. I've seen their stuff handle way more than a 20mph gust without a problem.

My tent once folded like a cheap lawn chair.
