Rant: My tent collapsed on me at 2am in Big Sur because I skipped the guylines
I was in a hurry to set up before dark and figured the poles would hold, but a gust at 3am pancaked the whole thing on my face. Had to repitch in the rain with a headlamp, which took like 40 minutes. Has anyone else learned this lesson the hard way?

Dude, same exact thing happened to me in Joshua Tree last year. Skipped the stakes on one side because I was lazy, and woke up with nylon in my face and a bent pole. Learned real quick that guylines are not optional when the wind shows up.
