Shoutout to the cheap camp stove that failed me at Yosemite last fall

I was three miles up the Mist Trail in the rain and my propane stove wouldn't light because the regulator got waterlogged, so I had to eat a cold can of beans with a plastic spork while my buddy's $20 butane canister from 2012 fired right up.

Check if the O-ring was seated right? Those cheap stoves always have bad seals from the factory. Cold temps make em shrink just enough to leak air instead of gas.

Ngl, that O-ring thing is usually the go-to blame, but I had a buddy who swapped seals twice and still had problems. Turns out the brass fitting on his stove was slightly warped from being overtightened at the factory. Cold temps didn't cause the leak, the metal just didn't seal flat against the O-ring in the first place. A little bit of plumber's tape around those threads actually fixed it, not the seal itself.
