Bought a $340 power stretcher off a Facebook swap page and it tore up two bedrooms
Just a heads up for anyone thinking about going cheap on a power stretcher. I grabbed a used one for $340 off a local swap page in Raleigh three weeks back because my old knee kicker was killing me on a 60 yard stretch job. Got it home, the tail block was cracked and the pins were so worn it kept slipping under tension. First bedroom looked ok until I stood back and saw a 3/4 inch wrinkle running the whole length, then the second room rippled worse. Lost about $600 in labor redoing both rooms plus a half day of my time, and the seller stopped answering my messages that same night. If you are buying used gear, check the head and the tail block for play before you hand over cash. Anyone got a brand or a model they trust that actually holds up?
