Double glue down on concrete, I was wrong about it for 8 years

I fought doing double glue downs on slab for years, swore it was just a money grab by the glue companies. Finally got forced into it on a 5,000 sq ft job in Austin last spring because the customer had some weird moisture barrier spec. That job is still flat as a board while two other jobs from the same month with pad and glue are already showing seams. Has anyone else seen long term issues with direct glue that made you switch, or am I just unlucky with my old method?
