Found out I was nailing tack strip into old adhesive for 2 years and a guy in Boise caught it in 10 seconds
Was stretching a bedroom in Boise when the other installer looked down and asked why I was shooting strip right over the old glue ridges instead of scraping first. He said that stuff crumbles and lets the pins walk, which is why my seams kept popping loose after about 6 months on concrete slabs. How many of you scrape every bit of old adhesive before you lay strip, or do you shoot over it on purpose in some rooms?
