I picked stapling over seaming tape on a 12x15 berber last month and the customer still called me back
Everyone on the crew swore by seaming tape for berber, but I went with a power stretcher and staples because the room had a weird bump in the subfloor near the doorway. I spent about 20 extra minutes on it and figured I'd get a callback within a week. Three days later the lady calls and says the seam is showing a ridge right where the hallway meets the bedroom. Turned out the pad was doubled up under that spot from the old install, so the tape wasn't the problem at all. Anyone else run into pad issues hiding under a seam that gets blamed on your method?
