That $15 knee kicker pad that saved my back
Was struggling through a 1,200 sq ft bedroom install last month and my knees were shot by lunch, so I grabbed one of those gel knee pads from Home Depot for fifteen bucks. Has anyone else tried those pads on a big job or do you just tough it out?

Heard a local installer swear by using a yoga mat from Goodwill instead.

Oh man, "swear by a yoga mat from Goodwill" - that caught my eye because my buddy tried something similar with an old camping pad from a garage sale. He was installing laminate flooring and swore that thin foam pad made all the difference for his knees. I mean, I get the logic behind it, yoga mats are basically just dense foam and they're cheap as chips. But here's the thing, I tried kneeling on one of those mats once and it was way too squishy for me, I kept sinking in and losing my balance. Plus the one I found had this weird sweat smell that no amount of Febreze could fix. Still, if it works for that installer, more power to him - sometimes the weirdest hacks turn out to be the best ones when you're on your knees all day.
