Tried tack strip on concrete with construction adhesive instead of nails, lasted 6 months before it let go

Did a basement job in Fresno last spring where the homeowner didn't want holes in the slab so I glued 40 feet of tack strip down with PL Premium, and by fall two sections had popped loose and the carpet was wrinkling at the seam, so now I'm wondering if anyone has a glue that actually holds on a slab or if I should just tell customers the nails are non negotiable.
