Watched a buddy in Omaha stretch a 12 footer with a power stretcher at a weird angle and it changed how I handle hallways

He kicked the head at a 45 degree angle instead of straight and that single trick saved me about 20 minutes on my last narrow hallway job has anyone else tried angling the power stretcher like that for tight spots?

Is that a 45 degree angle you're talking about? Man I tried something similar last month in a ranch house with a real tight hallway off the kitchen. I kicked the head sideways at maybe 30 degrees and it let me stretch the carpet smooth without fighting the wall on both sides. Usually I end up hitting the baseboard or the carpet bunches up in the corner but that angle trick fixed both problems. I even used it on a stair landing where the power stretcher usually bounces around and it stayed put way better. Your buddy sounds like he knows what he's doing with that weird angle trick.

Whoa, a 30 degree angle actually worked on a stair landing?
