That buyer who showed up with a notary at the first walkthrough
Had a guy last month in Phoenix, cash offer on a small duplex, normal closing stuff. He insisted on bringing his own notary to the final walkthrough, which felt weird but I went along. Turns out he wanted to sign everything on the spot because he was flying to Costa Rica the next day for 6 months. We closed the deal in about 40 minutes right there in the empty kitchen, and he paid $214,000 in certified funds. I've dealt with a lot of cash buyers over the years, but that level of urgency was a first. Has anyone else had a buyer try to compress the whole closing timeline like that?
