Hit 1000 hours on my old Game Boy Color last week

I dusted off my Game Boy Color from 1999 and the battery light was still flickering. Plugged it in and got Pokemon Crystal running again. The weird thing is my save file showed 999 hours and 59 minutes played. I sat there for a minute watching it roll over to 1000 hours. That number hit me hard, like I spent 41 straight days of my childhood on one game. Did anyone else ever hit some crazy play time on an old handheld that surprised you?

Maybe it's just me but 1000 hours on a single game doesn't sound like something to celebrate. I mean, that's a lot of time that could've been spent doing other stuff or playing different games. Idk, everybody has their own thing though, so if it makes you happy then fair enough.

Yeah we do this with everything now, not just games.
