Hot take: Legos are more fun now than when I was a kid
I know everyone says the old sets were better because you got more bricks and less specialized pieces. But I spent last Saturday building the NASA space shuttle set from 2021 and honestly it was way more entertaining. The old sets from the 80s were just boxes of bricks with a picture on the front. You had to guess how to build anything decent. Now you get these clever mechanisms that actually move, like landing gear that folds up. It took me about 6 hours over two days and I didn't get bored once. Has anyone else found modern builds more satisfying, or am I alone on this?

Started the botanical orchid set last weekend and the moving parts made it way more fun than my old 80s castle sets.

Oh man, that orchid set sounds way more fun than my last attempt at anything with moving parts. I bought one of those cheap music box kits online thinking I could build a little dancing robot, but I ended up with a pile of springs and a tiny metal gear that shot across the room and hit my cat in the face. Still haven't found that gear, but the cat forgave me after a treat. Those old castle sets were cool but kinda stiff, like everything just sat there looking pretty while you pretended to storm the drawbridge.
