I just bought a vintage Lego set for $150 and it was a total letdown

Found my old 90s Lego pirate ship online and got all excited. Dropped $150 on it, thinking it would be a fun weekend project. But man, putting it together just felt boring and slow, not like when I was a kid. The magic is totally gone, and now I have this big box of plastic taking up space. Has anyone else spent money on an old toy only to realize the fun was in being a kid, not the toy itself?

Totally get what you mean about the magic being gone. I think we're chasing a feeling we can't really buy back. Maybe the fun was in having endless time and no real worries, not the bricks themselves.

Yeah, that part about endless time really hits home.

Nah, I'm with @brooke_webb on this one. I still get that feeling sometimes, you just have to look for it.
