I threw $150 at a vintage Slip 'N Slide and it nearly wrecked my back

Everyone hypes up the old school Slip 'N Slides from the 80s, but I tracked down one on eBay for $150 and it was a total bust. The plastic was brittle and it tore on the second run, plus the ground wasn't as slick as I remembered. Honestly, the new $30 one from Walmart works way better and doesn't leave you with scraped elbows. Anyone else get burned paying too much for a retro toy?

Dude, isn't it funny how our brains trick us into thinking old stuff was better just cause we have good memories of it? I've noticed that with a bunch of things, like old movies or candy I loved as a kid, and then I try them again and they're just... not the same. Guess we gotta accept that some things are better left in the past.

OMG @adams.harper the "better left in the past" part got me. But like, do you think it's just the memories or is some of it actually that some stuff from back then is just made different now?
