I used to hate LEGO Technic sets as a kid, but last week changed my mind

My nephew handed me his 3-year-old LEGO Technic crane to "fix" and I spent 4 hours straight rebuilding it. The gears and pistons actually work, lmao. Has anyone else discovered old toys are way cooler now than you remember them being?

Picked up my dad's old LEGO Technic helicopter from the 90s last weekend and spent the whole afternoon rebuilding it. The rotor blades actually spin with a little gear system inside and I was completely blown away by how complex it was for a kid's toy. It really makes you appreciate the engineering behind them, even the simple sets have hidden mechanisms you never noticed when you were younger. I ended up ordering a current Technic set online that night, completely hooked now.
