Just realized my old Lite-Brite from 1995 doesnt work anymore
Found my old Lite-Brite in a box at my parents place last Sunday. Plugged it in and nothing happened, the bulbs are all dead or the wiring finally gave out after 30 years. I tried swapping bulbs around but no luck, so I guess my old light-up art days are over. Has anyone managed to fix one of these or are they just done once the bulbs go?

Oh man, same thing happened to mine a few years ago. I was so bummed because I had all these old designs still in the box. I think the wiring just gets brittle after that long, I tried a bulb tester from an electronics kit a friend gave me and still nothing.

@tarac16 yeah I had the same issue with mine a few years back. What worked for me was taking the whole thing apart and testing each bulb with a multimeter, but it turned out most of them were fine. The real problem was the little metal contacts inside the peg holes, they get bent or corroded over time. I used a small flathead screwdriver to gently bend them back into shape and it fired right up. Also if you haven't tried it yet, clean the bulb bases with a little rubbing alcohol on a q-tip, that gunk buildup can stop the connection. Mine's been working ever since, just gotta wiggle the pegs sometimes.
