Last weekend I dug out my old Lincoln Logs and actually built something

I was going through boxes at my parents' house and found my Lincoln Logs from when I was maybe 8. I figured I'd just stack a few pieces for nostalgia, but I ended up spending 3 hours building a two-story cabin with a working chimney. What changed my mind was how the interlocking notches felt satisfying even now as an adult, like a puzzle that clicks together perfectly. The thing that stood out was Saturday afternoon when my nephew walked in and asked to help, and we ended up making a whole little village with 4 structures. I didn't expect it to still be fun after 20 years, but the simple act of stacking wood pieces into something real just hits different. Has anyone else had a sudden revival with an old toy like this?

Honestly, I used to roll my eyes at stuff like this but hearing it from a different angle actually made me rethink things. Ngl, it kinda changed my mind a bit.
