My old G.I. Joe action figure looked like a different person after I cleaned it up

I found my old 1985 Snake Eyes in a box at my parents' place, all dusty and with a goofy-looking paint smear I forgot about. Spent 20 minutes with a damp cloth and a toothpick, and now he looks like he just stepped off the set, not like he survived a sandstorm. Anybody else had a toy come back to life with just a little cleanup?

Oh man, cleaning up an old Snake Eyes is a great feeling! I actually just listened to a podcast where the host was talking about how dust and grime can actually trap moisture and cause more damage over time if you leave it on there. They were going on about this guy who found a vintage Star Wars figure that was all sticky from an old soda spill, and after a careful wipe down it looked almost brand new. I bet your Snake Eyes now has that crisp, dark ninja look again instead of that weird dusty haze they get when they're sat in a basement for decades. It's wild how a little elbow grease can make you see the toy the way you did when you were a kid.
